Todos Santos - Travel Inspo
Hola.
This past month just before our shop opening party, Chelsie and I were fortunate enough to get away and head south to Todos Santos, BCS. Mexico for a few weeks. The trip was mainly to support the marriage of some great friends, yet there was much to be explored and discovered down every dusty dirt road that we encountered (which were bountiful).
The landscape was surprisingly green, due to the mass of moisture that was lingering out at sea with the evolving hurricane season. It was great to see the normal barren landscape feel a bit more alive and fully stoked. What was so fun about Todos Santos and the surrounding areas of Los Cerritos and El Pescadero was that we felt so free to roam within respects to the community, and that hidden gems were everywhere; whether it be small family taco shops, or secluded surf breaks.
Inspiration was everywhere for us, from the flora and fauna of the region which is definitely a bit “sharper” than here in the PNW, to all the handwritten typography and colorful murals. The culture and way of life seems to roll at a slower pace, however the happiness and contentment of life is high.
We always feel that it is very important to get away from the normal routines of life and to try new things and visit new places, especially those that get you out of your comfort zone. It’s somewhat like hitting a reset button. You will always end up learning more about yourself and finding inspiration to bring back into your daily life. For us, we were inspired and are palette was expanded.
Now who’s ready to open up a Mexican restaurant, because we’re more than ready to design + build it!
Adios.
